The Session was presented on Saturday, November 28th, 12:30–14:00.
There is growing need for analysis of big datasets in epidemiological research. Moreover availabe big datasets in nutritional epidemiology with detailed information on individual dietary habits are sparce in the literature. The creation of a mega dataset is a difficult process while harmonization and specific management of all the initial information is needed in order to be able to analyse the new created mega-dataset.
The ATHLOS project, throughout the harmonization of 20 epidemiological datasets around the world in one mega-dataset, aims to achieve a better understanding of ageing by identifying patterns of healthy ageing trajectories. Throughout ATHLOS, nutritional information in a mega-dataset format will be available to the researchers while the specific role of dietary habits on healthy ageing is going to be globally evaluated.
