INNCB is a national and international referral point in the fields of neurology, neurosurgery and neuroscience. It carries out research on child neurology, epilepsy,
neuro-oncology, neuro-rehabilitation, public health and disability research, genetic diseases, cerebrovascular diseases, neuromuscular and neurodegenerative disorders. The Scientific Director established the “Neurology, Public Health and Disability” Unit in 2005: the unit is engaged in the implementation of the ICF at national level as well as in
the development of strategic planning and policy recommendations in the field of public health and disability for the Italian Ministry of Welfare. Since 2007 it has been a WHOCollaborating Centre Research Branch. INNCB has expertise in participation in and coordination of National and Europe-wide research initiatives on disability evaluation, development of outcome measures and policy information and development. Expertise in the development of ICF-based disability measures for use in clinical contexts and/or in population studies. In the context of ATHLOS, INNCB will contribute to the harmonisation of datasets (WP1), to extract information on neurological outcomes that will then be used to address trajectories and determinants of healthy ageing (WP3). INNCB will contribute to the implementation of policy-level actions aimed to implement public health prevention and intervention initiatives (WP5). Finally, INNCB will participate to dissemination activities (WP6).

Author of 150+ publications.

Alberto Raggi (M)PsyD, post-graduate degree in Systemic-Relational Psychotherapy, PhD student at the University of Pavia (2013-16). Working at the INNCB since 2004 in Neurology, in the Public Health and Disability Unit on several projects related to ICF and related tools and on ICF applications in neurological patients, including data collection on ICF, development of ICF-based patient-reported outcome measures. Expertise in the use of disability and quality of life measures in neurological conditions. Former member of Disability Italian Network’s directive board (years 2006-2012), teacher in more than 40 ICF training events. Member of Besta Institute’s Clinical Trial Quality Team (CTQT). Author of 80+ publications; H-index: 10 (Web of Sciences); 14 (Publish or Perish); 11 (Scopus). Member of the Editorial Board of the following journals: BioMed Research International (Rehabilitation section), since March 2013; The Scientific World Journal (Rehabilitation section), since Sept. 2013; International Journal of Rehabilitation Research, since Jan. 2014.

Chiara Scaratti (F) PsyD and researcher working at the INNCB since 2014 at the Neurology, Public Health and Disability Union projects related to the evaluation of neurological and neurosurgical patients and impact of neurological conditions on work outcomes. Author of two publications in the field of reminiscence and wellbeing in ageing and in the area of stress management through new technologies. Teaching assistant of “Fundamentals of psychopathology” at the Catholic University of Brescia.

Anna Moiana (F) Research Assistant at INNCB since 2005 at Neurology, Public Health and Disability Unit.

Rui Quintas (Psy.D) is a researcher at the Neurology, Public Health & Disability Unit and at the Clinical Epileptology and Experimental Neurophysiology Unit of INNCB. Since 2008 working in the fields of neurology, disability, ageing and public health, collaborating in several European and Italian projects (MURINET Project; COURAGE in Europe Project; PARADISE Project; Neurosurgical complications and QoL in surgical patients; QoL, psychiatric symptoms and stigma in patients with epilepsy, Communication with patients with drug-resistant epilepsy; IDAGIT Project).

Davide Sattin (PSY) is a clinical neuropsychologist and researcher working at the Neurology, Public Health and Disability Unit of INNCB since 2008. An expert on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health, he has been involved in several projects on the burden of neurological disorders and the assessment and rehabilitation of people with disorders of consciousness.
